Platonic Personals Ads in Dallas, Texas

Megan's Dating Tip: Be respectful. Treat your date with kindness and courtesy, and expect the same from them. Don't tolerate rude or abusive behavior.

Of course! Finding a great platonic friend in a city as big as Dallas is like striking gold. Once you find your person, the next best thing is exploring all the amazing, fun, and weird things the city has to offer together. As someone who treasures my friendships, I've got a whole list of go-to spots and activities perfect for hanging out with a buddy.

Here are my favorite places to go and things to do in Dallas with a platonic friend.

For the Active & Outdoorsy Friends

When you both want to get moving and enjoy the Texas sunshine, these are the best bets.

  • White Rock Lake: This is the ultimate Dallas friendship spot. You can walk, jog, or bike the 9-mile loop, rent kayaks or paddleboards for an hour, or just find a shady spot for a picnic. It's perfect for those long talks where you solve all the world's problems.

  • The Katy Trail: A Dallas classic for a reason. Go for a walk or run on this urban trail, and then reward yourselves with beers and nachos on the massive patio at the Katy Trail Ice House. It’s a perfect Saturday afternoon, guaranteed.

  • Disc Golf at Harry S. Moss Park: If you want something a little different, grab a couple of frisbees and try disc golf. It’s a low-cost, low-pressure way to enjoy a park, get a little competitive, and laugh at how bad you both are at first.

For the Foodie Friends

If your friendship is built on a shared love of amazing food, Dallas is your playground.

  • Explore a Food Hall: Can't decide what to eat? Perfect. Head to the Dallas Farmers Market or Legacy Hall in Plano. Everyone can grab exactly what they're craving—from tacos to ramen to gourmet waffles—and then meet up at a communal table to share and compare.

  • Go on a Taco or BBQ Tour: Turn lunch into an adventure. Pick a neighborhood like East Dallas or Oak Cliff and hit up three different taco joints, rating each one. Or, for a true Texas experience, undertake the holy mission of comparing the city's BBQ titans like Pecan Lodge, Terry Black's, and Cattleack.

  • Check Out a Brewery: The craft beer scene in Dallas is fantastic for a casual friend hang. Head to Deep Ellum Brewing Company for a tour and a tasting in their vibrant beer garden, or visit Peticolas Brewing Company (only open on certain days, so check ahead!) for some of the best beer in the state.

For the Artsy & Nerdy Friends

When you bond over culture, science, or a good book, these spots are perfect.

  • Dallas Museum of Art (DMA): The best part? General admission is FREE. You can spend a whole afternoon wandering through centuries of art without spending a dime. It's a great, quiet place for thoughtful conversation.

  • Perot Museum of Nature and Science: Don't let the school buses fool you; this place is awesome for adults, too. For a guaranteed kid-free experience, go to their 21+ "Thursdays on Tap" events, where you can drink a beer while exploring the dinosaur bones and space exhibits.

  • Explore Bishop Arts District: This is my go-to for a chill afternoon. You can browse the shelves at The Wild Detectives (an amazing indie bookstore/bar), check out the local art, and finish with a slice of incredible pie from Emporium Pies.

For Friends Who Just Wanna Have Fun

Sometimes you just need to play a game or yell at a sporting event together.

  • Cidercade: For one entry fee (usually around $12), you get access to hundreds of vintage and modern arcade games, all set to free play. They also have a huge bar serving dozens of hard ciders and seltzers. It’s a blast and a great value.

  • Catch a Game: Dallas is a major sports city. The energy of a live game is perfect for friends. Grab tickets to a Mavericks (basketball) or Stars (hockey) game downtown. The communal excitement (or disappointment) is a great bonding experience.

  • Puttery or Topgolf: A modern take on mini-golf and the driving range. Puttery is an indoor, 21+ mini-golf course with cool themed holes and craft cocktails. Topgolf is a multi-story driving range with music, food, and drinks. Both are perfect for a little friendly competition.

For the Chilled-Out, Casual Hangs

When you don't need a big plan and just want to exist in the same space.

  • Klyde Warren Park: This park, built over a freeway, is the city’s living room. You can grab lunch from the food trucks, borrow a book or a board game from the cart, play a game of ping-pong, or just lay in the grass. There’s always something going on.

  • Coffee Shop Hopping: Pick a neighborhood like Lower Greenville or the Knox-Henderson area and spend a few hours trying different coffee shops. It’s the perfect backdrop for catching up on life.

Building a solid friendship is all about shared experiences, and Dallas offers an incredible backdrop for creating those memories. Happy exploring!
